Ex- Doctor Accused of Assault Charges Involving Thirty-Eight Individuals in His Care

Legal authorities report that a ex- physician stands accused of performing assaults involving thirty-eight victims who were patients.

The Grave Allegations

Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham faces allegations of dozens of acts of sexual assault – some of which involve some against children younger than 13 – spanning the period from 2017 to 2021.

A senior prosecutor said, “Our prosecutors have worked at length to support a thorough and intricate investigation, carefully reviewing the available evidence to determine that there is sufficient evidence to proceed to trial and that it is in the public interest.”

The Investigation

These allegations come after what police described as a “complex investigation” into alleged sexual offences at two hospitals: the Royal Stoke university hospital and Russells Hall hospital.

Spencer is scheduled to appear at the North Staffordshire justice centre on 20 January.

List of Offences

The charging documents outline the 45 charges he is charged with:

  • Fifteen counts of sexual assault.
  • 17 counts of assault by penetration.
  • 9 counts of sexual assault of a child under 13.
  • Three counts of penetrative assault on a child under thirteen.
  • 1 count of attempting to assault by penetration.

Police are urging anyone with concerns to get in touch with the relevant police force.
